Main Magazine Research Front Cover Analysis.

Preliminary Front Cover Evaluation.

Final Preliminary Front Cover.

Preliminary Mock Up.

Another element to the preliminary print exercise was that i had to create a mock up design on photoshop of the layout i wished for my contents page in my magazine to look like. I choose to keep my layout quite conventional yet eye catching by placing all the contents of the magazine and subtitles etc. to the left of my page and use images on the right hand side. By using puffs on my contents page i was hoping to attract the audiences attention and draw them in further by editing in some photos of prizes etc. By subtitling my contents in the magazine make it easier for the audience to see where things are giving it a more organised sophisticated look. the only problem i had with creating my contents page was to have been a little more creative and unconventional in the presentation of my layout.

Identify Brief Chosen.

Print
Preliminary Exercise:
Using DTP and an image manipulation programme, produce the front page of a new school/collage magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some approximately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally candidates must produce a DTP mock up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the programme.

Main Task:
The front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine.

All images and text must be original, produced by the candidate(s), minimum of FOUR images per candidate.

I have chosen to do the print brief because the magazine industry always interested me, its what I aspire to become involved in after my post sixteen education. My aim is to create a new music magazine, different from all the rest but still with a touch of conventionality to it. I hope to create a front page and also a double page spread for my magazine, hopefully showing off my creativity skills. During the course i may find it to become quite challenging, one of these being as i did GCSE Media i may tend to stick to what i know so therefore i may find it slightly harder to move out of my comfort zone and experiment to create something totally out of the ordinary for me.
